The Deer Isle Artists Association announces the opening of its show titled “Colorful Composing,” on view from July14–26. The vibrant works in this show convey the emotive power and beauty of color through the mediums of painting, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and woodwork. Featured artists in this show are Marianne Alweis, Sarah Baskin, Betsy Braunhut, Katherine Carlson, Ray Dinsmore, Mary Eaton, Judith Felch, Jill Finsen, Robin Layman, Jeanne Rotunda, Nicoletta Siccone, Roz Sommers, Robert Starkey, and Recherche.
The public is cordially invited to a reception with the artists on Friday, July 17, from 3–5PM. The gallery will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 10AM–4PM and Sunday from 11AM–3PM.
Next, the popular annual 12 x12(x12) show will open on Tuesday, July 28, and run through Sunday, August 2. This is the time to purchase art created by both new and returning gallery members for the enticing price of $144. Each work of art measures 12” x 12” (x 12”). Offerings change frequently. The gallery will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 10AM–5PM. In addition, artworks can be purchased online at https://www.deerisleartists.com from 6PM–8AM during this special exhibit. A reception with the artists will be held Friday, July 31, from 3–5PM.
