CYNTHIA Emily Hopkins
Emily Hopkins, “Response.”

Rooted in observation, memory and emotional response to place, Hopkins’ large-scale paintings are immersive and emotionally charged, with sweeping brushstrokes, layered textures and vibrant color palettes.

“Rather than depicting the landscape in a literal sense, my experiences are distilled into dynamic compositions that evoke the sensation of being within a place,” Hopkins wrote.
