Moss Galleries in Falmouth presents “Expressive Roots,” an exhibition tracing the evolution of Robert S. Neuman’s distinctive approach to abstract expressionism.
Anchored by Neuman’s prismatic color palette, gestural brushwork and expansive compositions, the exhibition explores the development of his artistic practice over the course of his career.
“Expressive Roots” remains on view through Oct. 17.
The gallery will celebrate Neuman’s legacy with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9, marking what would have been the artist’s 100th birthday.
Born Sept. 9, 1926, Neuman was an American painter, printmaker and educator whose career spanned more than six decades. He died in 2015.
