“Pretty in Pink”, Acrylic / Panel, 12” x 12”, by Liz Prescott

Landing Gallery in Rockland begins the Labor Day Weekend with it’s First Friday Art Walk on September 4th from 4 PM till 7 PM.  “JUST PASSING THROUGH” is a Solo Show with new paintings by Liz Prescott which continues until September 20th.  We hope you will join us for a celebration of Liz’s new work.

The exhibition features a stunning series of acrylic paintings inspired by Prescott’s time spent paddling and hiking along the rugged Maine coast.  Each piece serves as a visual meditation on place, offering and intimate interpretation of coastal space through vibrant colors, fluid lines, and dynamic brushwork.  Central to this collection are the mesmerizing water reflections dancing of harbor boats and the complex geometry of Downeast Maine’s iconic pink granite rock formations.

“I am deeply drawn to scenes of light and movement in the world around me,” says Prescott.  “Watching images, dissolve, tranmute, and reform in the water alows me free reign to explore abstraction while still holding onto remnants of a landscape we understand. The rocky shorelines challenge me to navigate their geometry and find colors and shapes that reveal themselves in subtle, and sometimes bold, ways as I paint.”
