Made in Maine
Brooke Pacy, “Tomorrow…Spring.”

The Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset will conclude its 2026 exhibition season Oct. 18 with the closing of “Made in Maine,” its annual members show.

The exhibition features works in painting, encaustic, drawing, sculpture, photography and assemblage, offering a wide range of artistic perspectives without the constraints of a particular theme or medium.

The show also highlights works by some of the gallery’s early artists, including silkscreen prints by Francis Hamabe, a 1972 lithograph by Stow Wengenroth, a large 1982 painting of the Maine Art Gallery by Francis Wenderoth Saunders and a signature mica painting by gallery founder Mildred Burrage.

The works by Saunders and Burrage were recently donated to the gallery by their owners during a program celebrating the organization’s history.

Held in Wiscasset’s historic Old Academy building, the annual exhibition gives member artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work while supporting the gallery’s mission of building community through the arts.

The Maine Art Gallery thanks season sponsors Sherri Dunbar of Tim Dunham Realty and Ames True Value for their continuing support.

Founded in 1958, the nonprofit gallery promotes visual, fine and applied arts through exhibitions, lectures, demonstrations and educational programs.

The Maine Art Gallery is at 15 Warren St., Wiscasset. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For more information, visit www.maineartgallerywiscasset.org.
