Jan Kilburn, a watercolorist and oil painter based in Damariscotta, is showing her artwork in several Midcoast venues this summer.
Kilburn has painted exclusively in watercolor for 30 years but has recently added oil paintings to her body of work. Kilburn’s passion for color gives her paintings a unique quality.
“I want you to feel the beauty and warmth in these subjects,” she says. “Every now and then, everyone needs a peaceful place in which to escape. That’s what I want to create.”
Kilburn shows her work at the Small Wonder Gallery in Camden, and she sells prints at Sheepscot River Pottery in Damariscotta, the SeaGull Gift Shop at Pemaquid Park, the Walpole Barn in Walpole, the Granite Hall Store in Round Pond, the Sweet Bay store in Boothbay Harbor, and the East Boothbay General Store in East Boothbay.
Kilburn’s gallery is at 168 Bristol Road and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 207-563-8363 for more information.
