On Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, the Farnsworth Art Museum in downtown Rockland, Maine will host a workshop on cultivating creativity. The program, led by artist Kim Bernard, will take place both days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum’s Gamble Education Center, on the corner of Grace and Union Streets in Rockland.

In this energized, supportive and non-judgmental workshop participants will be guided through a plethora of playful exercises that promise to inspire and build creative confidence. Non-precious materials will be provided that encourage experimentation, discovery and fun. All will focus on the creative process, rather than the product, in an atmosphere where generating ideas and finding ‘flow’ are the goal. Participants will leave with an arsenal of go-to strategies they can continue to revisit for inspiration. All levels welcome.

Instructor Kim Bernard has exhibited her sculpture and paintings at the Portland Museum of Art, Fuller Craft Museum, Colby College Museum of Art and UNH Museum of Art. Bernard has received grants from the Maine Arts Commission and NEFA. She earned her BFA from Parsons and MFA from MassArt. Examples of her work may be seen at kimbernard.com.
