Van der Ven Studios is open for visits by appointment

The van der Ven Studios website is fully updated with new work, dimensions, and current availability. Simon A. van der Ven says he is especially pleased with the work that recently came out of  Jody Johnstone’s wood-fired anagama kiln, including three new additions to the Home Series. It’s hard not to see reflections of our current circumstance in these pieces.

Currently, he’s working on two egg commissions — one large, one small — and plans to then return to a round of mixed-media sculpture.

Studio visitors are now welcome, but appointments should be made beforehand. Masks are required while indoors, and guests are asked to sanitize hands before entering. No more than three visitors are allowed inside at any one time.
