David Estey

David Estey’s painting “Abstract (Mauve, Gray, Teal)” is one of four at Nahme Fine Art Gallery in downtown Searsport, which opened for the season on May 22.

The gallery will feature the paintings and sculpture of Michael Nahme; crocheted figures, drawings and paintings by his wife, Lee; photographs by Wayne Hamilton; and works by other local artists.

Nahme Fine Art Gallery is at 5 West Main St., Searsport.

“Two-Faced”

The artist also contributed his painting “Two-Faced” to a month-long exhibit and online silent auction to benefit Finding Our Voices, a nonprofit founded by Patrisha McLean to break the silence of domestic abuse and support the victims.

The title has multiple meanings, the artist says. The painting has two faces, one straightforward and blue, the other evasive and suspicious. Meaningful communication, love and respect depend on honesty, not deception.
