“Haunted House,” by Jadyn LaDeau.

Inspiration abounds when living on a very special island, and the artists of the Deer Isle Artists Association are pleased to share their portrayals of “Island Character” in the final exhibit of the 2021 season, which runs from Oct. 5 to 17.

Participating in this show are Ben Appelby-Maguire, Kristie Billings, Adell Donaghue, Mary Eaton, Jill Finsen, Susan Finsen, Ronald Harte, Jaeohk Keenan, Anita Kimball, Jadyn LaDeau, Diane Maguire-Horton, Alice McKenna, Katama Murray, Robert Pernice, Jeanne Rotunda, Suzy Shepard, David Simonds, Robert Starkey, Supriya Swarnkar and Joshua Thomas.

While artists utilize many different mediums, all will present work that demonstrates their interpretation of the island theme.

Currently on display at the gallery is “Raven’s Call,” which ends Oct. 3. A pop-up holiday show will offer the opportunity to purchase original works of art in December.

Open Tuesdays through Sundays, the DIAA Gallery welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All CDC\Maine government protocols will be maintained, and visitors are required to wear face masks inside the gallery. Hand sanitizer and disposable masks are available, and cloth masks may be purchased in the gallery.
