Shop Maine Craft is shining up its sleigh in preparation to deliver handcrafted goodies to the locals this December! With expected mail delays on the horizon, they wanted to create a new way to reliably send and receive Maine-made gifts.
Not only are you guaranteed to receive your order in a timely manner, but it’s also a wonderful way to support working Maine craft artists and fuel the local arts economy.
Each Thursday (until Christmas), Shop Maine Craft staff will personally deliver Webshop orders to the greater Portland and West Gardiner areas; the homes of its two retail galleries, Maine Craft Portland + the Center for Maine Craft.
Each week, qualifying orders placed by Tuesday at midnight will be delivered on Thursday between noon and 5 p.m.
What is considered local? Greater Portland and West Gardiner = 15 mile radius from either gallery location, Maine Craft Portland at 521 Congress St., Portland, and Center for Maine Craft at 288 Lewiston Road, West Gardiner.
How much does it cost? It is a $10 flat fee, which covers the delivery and gift wrapping your entire order.
How do I participate? Select the $10 DASHER DELIVERY at checkout (please be sure to check you are within the 15-mile delivery radius of one of the stores).
Ideally the recipient (whether it is you, or someone else) will be present to receive the order. If you/they will not be home, consider having it delivered to their place of work. If this is going to someone else’s home or workplace, leave their phone number in the order notes.
If needing to ship beyond the Portland/West Gardiner area, USPS delivers Webshop items.
