The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) invites you to join us for Abstract Painting, A Celebration of Place our Adult Workshop with artist and educator Karen Jelenfy. Explore abstract painting that draws inspiration from landscapes rooted in a celebration of place. During this one day class (lunch break 12-1pm), participants will reference works currently on view at CMCA along with masterworks by Andrew Wyeth, Chaim Soutine, and Joan Mitchell to inspire your own abstract paintings.

Karen Jelenfy has lived and painted in Midcoast Maine since 2004. She is also an educator and writer with an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work can be found in upcoming exhibitions at All Roads Hub, Bridgton and University of New England Gallery, Portland.

Registration deadline Sunday, April 10 at 8am.
