In celebration of Maine Craft Weekend Oct. 7 and 8, Turtle Gallery invites the public to visit and see a selection of ceramics, glass, textiles, wood vessels and fine furniture, jewelry and many other media.

Turtle Gallery is just one stop on the Maine Crafts Association map of galleries and craftspeople open on the peninsula and beyond.

The gallery will offer promotions for our last two weeks of our 41st season to say thank you for a great year and to encourage guests to help support Island Workforce Housing, to which the gallery will donate a portion of its proceeds.

The last day of Turtle Gallery’s season will be Oct. 8.

Since beginning in 1982, the gallery has offered a comprehensive selection of fine art, craft, and sculpture by local and nationally-known makers, many of whom have studied or taught at the nearby Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

Turtle Gallery resides in an 1876 two-story barn and outdoor sculpture garden located at 61 N. Deer Isle Road in Deer Isle. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For more information, visit turtlegallery.com, or call 207-348-9977.
