
The Barn Gallery throws open its doors to a season of exhibitions showcasing the work by juried Ogunquit Art Association artists. The season began on May 22.
Opening-Season Exhibitions will feature “OAA Expressions” (an exhibition with a wide variety of subject and medium); OAA Artist Showcases by Lou Kohl Morgan (painting) and Lennie Mullaney (painting); an Expanded Collectors Gallery (featuring ready-to-hang artwork, no larger than 16×20, and all priced no higher than $850); plus an Invited New England Sculptors exhibit in our outdoor Sculpture Court.
Opening Exhibitions run May 22 to June 22. A gallery talk with Lou Kohl Morgan and Lennie Mullaney will be held at 6 p.m. June 13.
Barn Gallery also announces virtual versions of their exhibitions will be made available on barngallery.org. Also, much of the work exhibited will additionally be shared on their Barn Gallery Facebook and Instagram accounts.
The OAA has moved to biennial jurying for membership on the even-numbered years. They are accepting applicants for membership in the categories of painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. This 2024 Jury will be your only chance to gain membership in the OAA until they open up the process again in 2026. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. June 10.
Barn Gallery will also host its popular Open, Regional, Juried Show. Since 2004, the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative/Barn Gallery has invited local artists who are not members of the Ogunquit Art Association to submit work for Regional Artists: An Open, Juried Show. Their past jurors for this show have been museum directors and curators, gallery owners, art critics and other distinguished citizens of the art world. Entries for Regional Artists: An Open Juried Show are due on June 23.
The biggest annual Art Auction in Ogunquit, the 70th OAA Art Auction will hold a preview on July 31 and Aug. 1, 2 and 3. For the auction on Aug. 3, doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m.

Barn Gallery also recently hosted its 44th annual Student Art Show. Imagination and energy filled Barn Gallery to overflowing on May 10 through 12, as K-12 students from Southern Maine Seacoast area elementary, middle and high schools exhibit their latest works of art at the 44th annual Student Art Show.
The artistic skill and enthusiasm of the young artists were on display in a variety of media and subjects — landscapes/seascapes, portraits, animals, still life, design, photography, sculpture, jewelry and more. A reception was held on May 10.
