ART SPACE Lily Pads
“Lily Pads,” oil on canvas by Molly Mugler, is part of the May “Pink and Green” exhibition at Art Space Gallery in Rockland.

After a quiet winter, Art Space Gallery in Rockland is ready to bloom again. The artist-run cooperative at 405 Main Street will reopen for the season with fresh work from its members, a new featured artist and a themed Front Room exhibition that celebrates the joyful contrast of springtime hues.

The season begins with the first Rockland Art Walk of the year from 4 to 7 p.m. May 2. Visitors are invited to stop in and explore the gallery’s latest offerings while connecting with the artists behind the work.

May’s Front Room theme, “Pink and Green,” brings together sixteen member artists responding to the prompt in a range of media. From painting to sculpture and beyond, the pieces reflect the tension and harmony between these vibrant colors. Among the highlights is Molly Mugler’s oil painting “Lily Pads,” a composition that captures the quiet intensity of color in nature.

The gallery also welcomes its newest member, Rockland-based painter Jody Solow. Known for her lyrical, figurative acrylic work, Solow brings fresh energy to the space and is excited to connect with the local creative community.
