The Barn Gallery in Ogunquit winds down its 2025 season with gratitude and forward momentum. The gallery remains open through October 13, 2025, offering final opportunities to experience this year’s exhibitions.

Recently, several team members — Deidre, Pam, Ethel, Mark, Deloris, and Susan — gathered to celebrate the success of this year’s auction and begin dreaming about 2026. Planning is already underway for next year’s auction, and the gallery welcomes sponsors and donors to join the effort. As they note, it truly takes a community to make it all happen.

A Serendipitous Story

Steve and the team at the Ogunquit Transfer Station recently reached out to Barn Gallery with an unexpected donation—a table they believed belonged among art. Their gesture recalled the spirit of the late Norman West (1952-2016), an Ogunquit Art Association artist (juried in 1988) known for finding beauty in the everyday. Pam and Deidre immediately recognized the table’s potential and installed it in the gallery, where it now rests serendipitously beneath a reclining nude.

Barn Gallery, Ogunquit Art Association, and Ogunquit Art Collective extend heartfelt thanks to the Ogunquit Transfer Station. This act of community appreciation for beauty serves as a fitting tribute, and there’s a feeling Norman is looking down on this wonderful full-circle moment with a smile.

18th Annual Elizabeth Dunaway Burnham Piano Festival

The Barn Gallery also celebrates the 18th Annual Elizabeth Dunaway Burnham Piano Festival with three exceptional performances.

Randall Hodgkinson and Leslie Amper: Four Hands, One Piano — Renowned classical pianist Randall Hodgkinson returns to Ogunquit, where he has appeared multiple times as a soloist and with Boston Chamber Music. This time he will be joined by equally acclaimed pianist Leslie Amper, also his spouse, for a special performance on OPA’s Steinway. They regularly perform a four-hand, two-piano repertoire together. Perhaps their best-known recording together is “The Manatee: Piano Music of Bernard Hoffer.”

Jonathan Bass, Pianist — Virtuoso pianist Jonathan Bass brings his wide-ranging repertoire and talent to Ogunquit for the first time. Jonathan enjoys a multi-faceted career and appears frequently throughout the United States and around the world as soloist and chamber musician. Of his 1994 Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall debut, New York Concert Review wrote, “A technical presence to be reckoned with…soaring with a feeling of lyrical discovery.”

Student Piano Recital — The 18th Annual Elizabeth Dunaway Burnham Piano Festival concludes with the upStudent Piano Recital, showcasing the area’s best young pianists performing on Ogunquit Performing Arts Committee’s world-class Steinway piano before a live audience in a beautiful setting.
