“Salty Summer Days,” a collection of representational Maine coast paintings and Asian brushwork, is on exhibit in July at Jean Kigel Studio + Gallery, 1396 Back Cove Road in Waldoboro.
Now that we have celebrated the Strawberry moon and the summer solstice, artists and locals take to the sea. With Kigel’s seascapes, one can almost smell the salt air depicted from Acadia National Park to Popham.
Kigel’s work has been shown in SoHo, New York; Newburyport, Massachusetts; Amman, Jordan; Paris, France; as well as locally in Maine. She is a member of the Sumi-e Society of America and the Union of Maine Visual Artists, among other art groups.
The gallery is open daily. Calling ahead is recommended at 207-975-3262. Preview Kigel’s work at www.jeankigel.com.
