Work by Eastport Gallery members Helena Bosse and Barbara Moskol were featured in the show “Inspirations from Land and Sea,” July 3 to 16.
Bosse’s paintings reflecting her love of flowers and local landscapes are a perfect complement to Moskol’s works in clay that showcase the colors of the ever-changing sea and often incorporate Eastport sea glass into the glazing process.Bosse finds inspiration “every day, everywhere I look,” she says. “That’s the wonderful part about living in Maine. In recent years, I’ve become more in tune with the different light of the day and how it affects the overall feel in the composition. It’s been a wonderful challenge to try to recreate these special times of the day.”
Moskol likes to make objects that are both beautiful and useful. She says, “My high fire pottery is entirely food safe as well as microwave safe and every piece is unique.”
