First Friday will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. March 3 in multiple locations throughout Waterville.
Celebrate Youth Art Month with an exhibition on March 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. This annual YAM exhibition will expand this year by partnering with Colby’s Greene Block + Studios. Student work will be displayed at both Ticonic Gallery and Greene Block + Studios. This year’s theme is “Your Art, Your Story.”
In conjunction with March First Friday, create your own movable self-portrait puppet with stamps, collage and more from 4 to 7 p.m. This project ties into Take the World in Your Arms, the Ashley Bryan/Paula Wilson exhibit at the Colby’s Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery, and Your Art Your Voice, the Youth Art Month exhibit at Ticonic Gallery + Studios.
Mobile Exhibits with Children’s Discovery Museum will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Green Screen Family Photos will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
“Take the World in Your Arms” exhibition with opening remarks from Colby College Museum of Art staff and special guests will start at 5 p.m.
A choral performance by Waterville Senior High School students, led by Ciara Hargrove, Waterville Schools choral director, will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by a choral performance by Waterville Senior High School students, led by Ciara Hargrove, Waterville Schools choral director at the Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main St., at 6:30 p.m.
The Children’s Book Giveaway from Colby College Museum of Art will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Children ages 12 and younger will receive a children’s picture book by award-winning author and illustrator Ashley Bryan. A variety of titles will be available.
Art work for Youth art Month is in two locations: Ticonic Gallery, 93 Main St., Waterville, and Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main St., Waterville.
