Join Archipelago, the Island Institute’s store and gallery, for a special Holiday Art and Craft Bonanza opening on Nov. 1 and showing through Jan. 4. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 1 during Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk. Meet the artists and share food, drink, and conversations.

Archipelago shares recent works from many Maine artists including Val Aponik, Holly Berry, Andre Benoit, Kathleen Bird, Kathleen Buchanan, Helene Farrar, Randy Fein, Terry Golson, Lee Gordon, Clint Jones, Sally Loughridge, Kaitlyn Miller, Wendy Newcomb, Aaron Staples, Anne Stuer, Stephen Tofield, Sarah Wilde, Ben Williamson and Virginia Winkler.

Pieces showcase many mediums including encaustic, pottery, fiber and fabric, graphite, ink, acrylic, glass, woodcuts and more. Mixing new and longtime Archipelago artists, there’s something for everyone to browse or purchase for gift giving or for your own collection, just in time for the holidays.

Archipelago features artists who work with natural, coastal and working waterfront themes inspired by living and creating art in Maine.
