Fine artist Peter Yesis and author Kim Yesis will give a talk at the Roux & Cyr International Fine Art Gallery at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 1 during the First Friday Art Walk.
Their talk is titled “Artistically Inclined: the value of partnership in art.”
This is a free event and refreshments will be served.
Kim is a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance. She wrote “Side by Side: Tales from Behind the Canvas” about Peter’s journey to becoming an artist when he decided to change careers.
In 2023, Peter was selected to be the Allagash Wilderness Waterway’s Artist in Residence. His challenges in painting this wilderness area inspired Kim to write another book, “Artist in the Allagash.”
They will share stories and some of Peter’s drawings. His Allagash paintings are on display in the gallery, and Kim will have copies of her books available for purchase.
Roux & Cyr International Fine Art Gallery is at 48 Free St., Portland. See rouxandcyrgallery.com for details.
