KIGEL
“The Jameson Farm” by Jean Kigel.

Jean Kigel Studio and Gallery is showing watercolors of Maine. This signature piece depicts Kigel’s childhood farm two years before she was born and a decade before the farm was fully transformed into a poultry farm.

Farming in Maine is diverse, ranging from wild blueberries and maple syrup to dairy and kelp farming. Poultry was once king in the midcoast, as evidenced by remains of chicken barns dotting the region.

Jean Kigel Studio + Gallery and its seaside gardens are located at 1396 Back Cove Road in Waldoboro. The gallery is open daily throughout the year with flexible hours. Call first is recommended at 207-832-5152. For more information or to view paintings, visit jeankigel.wordpress.com.
