Make Your Mark F

Waterfall Arts in Belfast opens “Make Your Mark,” an immersive, community-driven exhibition transforming the Clifford Gallery into an interactive space inspired by street art, April 18 through May 29.

An opening reception is April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The exhibition features participatory installations including doodle walls, a wall inspired by Candy Chang’s Before I Die project, and a communal prompt inviting visitors to share their hopes for the future. A collaboration station provides materials for visitors to create artwork on the spot and add it directly to the gallery walls, allowing the show to grow organically over time.

Program director Amy Tingle, who conceived the exhibition, said she has long been drawn to street art and its capacity for community engagement. “I’ve been especially inspired by the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, which shows how art can foster dialogue, build relationships, and empower communities,” Tingle said. “With that spirit in mind, this exhibition transforms our gallery into an interactive space where visitors can add artwork to the walls and respond to prompts as the show evolves.”

Executive director Kim Fleming said the show reflects the organization’s core mission. “Make Your Mark reflects that mission by inviting everyone who walks through our doors to become part of the artwork itself,” Fleming said. “This exhibition isn’t just something to view — it’s something to build together.”
