WFA Make Your Mark

Waterfall Arts in Belfast is showing “Make Your Mark,” an immersive, community-driven exhibition in the Clifford Gallery through May 29. The opening reception was held April 18.

Conceived by program director Amy Tingle, the show draws inspiration from street art and the call-and-response nature of public creative expression. The exhibition features participatory installations including doodle walls, a wall inspired by artist Candy Chang’s “Before I Die” project, and a communal prompt inviting visitors to share their hopes for the future. A collaboration station provides materials for visitors to create artwork on the spot and add it directly to the gallery walls, allowing the show to grow and evolve over its run.

“I’ve always been drawn to street art, and when I travel, much of my photography focuses on graffiti, murals, and found art — creative expressions left in public spaces for others to encounter and engage with,” Tingle said. “I’ve been especially inspired by the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, which shows how art can foster dialogue, build relationships, and empower communities.”

Executive director Kim Fleming added: “Make Your Mark reflects that mission by inviting everyone who walks through our doors to become part of the artwork itself. This exhibition isn’t just something to view — it’s something to build together.”

Admission is free. Waterfall Arts is at 256 High St., Belfast. See waterfallarts.org for details.
