CMCA

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its iconic Rockland building at the 2026 Art Party on Wednesday, July 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. This annual fundraising event will honor the visionary leaders whose creativity, expertise, and dedication helped bring this award-winning building to life and shaped CMCA’s future as a leading destination for contemporary art.

This year’s celebration will recognize four individuals whose leadership was instrumental in the creation of CMCA’s building: acclaimed architect Toshiko Mori, contractor Jay Fischer of Cold Mountain Builders, former CMCA Board Chair Charlotte Dixon, and CMCA Trustee and Building Committee Chair Jack McKenney. The event will also honor the many Capital Campaign donors whose generosity made it possible for CMCA to continue its legacy in a building specifically designed to showcase contemporary art in all its forms.

“Ten years ago, CMCA opened a building that transformed not only our institution, but also the cultural landscape of Rockland and Midcoast Maine,” said Carolyn Watson, co-chair, CMCA Board of Trustees. “This Art Party is an opportunity to celebrate and thank the people who made that vision possible while ensuring that CMCA remains a vibrant destination for contemporary art for generations to come.”

In addition to celebrating CMCA’s architectural milestone, guests will enjoy exclusive access to exhibitions featuring work by artists Bianca Beck, Marc Swanson, Abbey Williams, and Will Sears, highlighting the breadth and vitality of contemporary art being presented at CMCA today.

The evening will feature cocktails, a movable feast by E. Wales Hospitality, an oyster bar by Jolie Rogers Raw Bar, and opportunities to connect with artists, collectors, supporters, and members of Maine’s creative community. Festive attire is encouraged.

Proceeds from the Art Party support CMCA’s year-round exhibition and education programs.

The CMCA Art Party is at 21 Winter St., Rockland.

Tickets are $450 per person. For tickets and additional information, visit www.cmcanow.org/art-party.
