In fall of 2019, Turtle Gallery invited artists to contribute to a season-long group exhibit titled “Our Vulnerable Earth,” which is currently on exhibit and runs through September.

More artwork will be added to the online show as it’s received.

The gallery is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but will not host receptions at this time. Small groups are welcome to make appointments to visit the gallery and gardens.

“We aim to present artwork driving attention to the vulnerability of nature,” the gallery states. “Things change every day. Last November, we could not have imagined how important this would be.”

Many Turtle Gallery artists have consistently produced work which speaks to this concern. Artists draw thoughts and ideas from nature and the extraordinary world around us. Art at best can be a call to action, and many artists create with that in mind. The hope is that this exhibit amplifies their voices.

While online only, the gallery will continue to represent its artists and will regularly post images.

In lieu of opening receptions, its new, online “Open Process” series gives a behind-the-scenes look at the gallery and artists and thought processes behind the work.
