During October, Jean Kigel Studio + Gallery at 1396 Back Cove Road in Waldoboro, presents “Transfiguration,” an exhibit of paintings marking the transition of summer to fall.
The pairing of Asian brush paintings with oils reveals Jean Kigel’s range of media. Born and brought up in Maine, Kigel ventured to Boston and Philadelphia for schooling and to Maryland for work before her Maine roots called her back.
The paintings in this show result from colorful and expressive brushstrokes on absorbent Chinese and Japanese rice papers.
The gallery is open year-round with flexible hours; it is advised to call ahead at 207-832-5152. For more information and a preview of her work, go to www.jeankigel.com.
