“Oregon High Desert” by Chris Owles.

“Unfolding Horizons,” which runs from July 9 to 21 at the Deer Isle Artists Association gallery, aims to expand visitors’ perceptions about the power of art.

Appearing in this show are Marianne Alweis, Leslie Anderson, Don Bardole, Steven Brawer, Christopher Brumfield, Shanna Compton, Avery Falkner, Jill Finsen, Jean Gresham, Judy Holder, Susan Keating, June Kellogg, Jadyn LaDeau, Leslie Landrigan, David McBeth, Chris Owles, Nicoletta Siccone, Linda Smiley and Kathy Varadi.

Various mediums will be on display, including glass, painting, pottery and jewelry, all inspired by the theme of unfolding horizons. 

A reception with the artists will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. July 12.

The next show, the annual “12×12(x12),” will take place in the gallery from July 23 to 28.
