PastelClassTerriBrooks

Join award-winning painter Terri Brooks for “Figures in Pastels,” a workshop designed for experienced pastel artists. Working from a live, costumed model, participants will refine their ability to capture the human form using layered pastel techniques.

The class will focus on essential life-drawing skills, using light and shadow to define facial structure and form through pastel application. Participants may register for one or both sessions. For those looking to improve their figure drawing skills in a small-group setting, this workshop offers an opportunity for focused instruction and practice. Register early on the Gallery 302 website at www.gallery302.com/adult-programs to secure your spot.

Terri Brooks has a lifelong passion for the visual arts, earning a degree in art from the University of Maine before spending over 30 years teaching art in public schools. Though she majored in sculpture, her love of color and need for a portable medium led her to work primarily in watercolor before transitioning to pastels. She was drawn to pastels for their layering potential, similar to watercolor, and their ability to capture the subtleties of light. Her work leans toward realism, aiming to evoke joyful, lighthearted moments through luminous color and composition.
