Centre Street Arts Gallery in Bath will take part in the Bath-Brunswick Finding Our Voices weekend with a special reception aimed at raising awareness around domestic violence. From 5 to 7 p.m. May 9, the gallery will host a gathering featuring selected works by local artists, with proceeds from the evening going to support the cause. Visitors are encouraged to show their solidarity by wearing yellow.
Among the featured pieces is “Beauty by the Side of the Road,” a 16×20 acrylic painting by Judy Conlan, marked by a yellow ribbon in support of the initiative. Conlan is one of several artists contributing to the event, using their work to open hearts and spark conversation around a deeply personal and often hidden issue.
The event is part of a broader effort by Finding Our Voices, a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to breaking the silence around domestic abuse. The organization supports survivors through community engagement, creative expression, and public installations that amplify the voices of those who have experienced violence.
